Mike Sisco

 American talk show host, Oprah Winfrey on Wednesday's show was featuring an issue she tackled in 1987 about an AIDS victim by the name of Mike Sisco, being subjected to intolerance from a local swimming pool due to his disease, being asked to leave and the pool being closed down shortly after his appearance there.

Winfrey was in Williamson, USA on Wednesday, the town where this occurred, and she revisited the issue, comparing attitudes in 1987 toward the disease with how people feel in 2010 and she interviewed one of Mike Sisco's sisters, Tina, about it today, 16 years after his death, and she said he never regretted his courageous appearance on the show. The show highlights the incredible ignorance towards the AIDS virus, specifically in small towns, during the 1980's when it first became widespread.
