Tura Satana, the actress whose commanding presence, exotic features and busty physique grabbed a flock of viewers of Russ Meyer's 1965 cult film "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!", died on Friday night in Reno, Nevada. The death was made known by her manager of many years, Siouxzan Perry.

It was said the cause of death was believed to be heart failure. Ms. Perry said Ms. Satana was 72 when she died, though other sources listed her birth year as 1935. Born Tura Luna Pascual Yamaguchi in Hokkaido, Japan, to a father of Japanese and Filipino descent and a mother who was Cheyenne Indian and Scots-Irish, her breakthrough role came in “Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!”, a Meyer exploitation film that, in stark opposition to the director’s later works, featured no nudity.

So another classic actress has now passed but has left behind work which for a long time will keep her well known by many people who've seen her films.

superbowl 2011 time

Super Bowl 2011 is about to take place and football fans across the states for the showdown. The event kicks off on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time and the match starts at 6:25pm EST. The match is between the NFC champion Green Bay Packers pitted against the AFC champion Pittsburgh Steelers at the cowboys stadium in Dallas, Texas.

Usher, Slash and the Black-Eyed Peas are scheduled to provide the Half Time Show entertainment. You can watch the game live on television (FOX) or follow along live online via Twitter or the numerous live blogs on the Web. The expectation for this game has quickly grown on the past days, with even rap songs made for each of the teams made by Wiz Khalifa and Lil Wayne.

Today sees the national wear red day of 2011 take place and people are encouraged to wear red to show support for the fight against heart disease in women. Another way you can help support the cause is to talk to five women in your life about heart disease.

The American Heart Association says you can help save lives by telling five women you love that heart disease is the number one killer of women in order to raise awareness. Wimbledon Classic Match: Federer vs Sampras

Roger Federer is in many ways very similar to the man he took over the tennis reign from in the 2000s. In this fourth round match of 2001 the swiss tennis legend puts in an immortal performance to see off his former idol, Sampras. Sampras held a set point in the tiebreaker and then Federer cancelled it out with a service winner.

Sampras then lost the set four points later when he dumped an easy backhand into the net, and the battle was on.

Sampras played his best tennis in the final two sets, smashing serves at up to 136 mph and looking like the champion of old at the net. Serving in the final game, he misplayed two volleys and fell behind 15-40. Federer then played a superb return winner - something he had done repeatedly over the previous 3 1/2 hours - and fell to his knees with glee before keeling over onto the turf.

The usually composed player could no longer hide his emotions and broke down with tears of joy.

obama triggers blackouts

The blackouts that are being suffered in Texas and nationwide as extreme cold weather is locked onto America, is a direct result of Obama's Administration's agenda to condemn the coal industry, run a takeover of infrastructure under the global warming scam and help launch the post-industrial ruin of the United States.

Planned power outages conducted by utility companies have caused outrage amongst officials at four major hospitals in Texas, at Parkland, Baylor, Methodist and Presbyterian Dallas. “Because of the sensitive life-saving equipment, hospitals are considered “critical care facilities,” and supposed to be exempt from rolling blackouts,” reports CBS 11. As well as hospitals, nursing homes, fire stations, police stations, other emergency response facilities have also been hit with outages as demand soars due to freezing temperatures. Many places in Texas now rely on Mexico to supply their power.

So shocking developments, especially in the lone star state and how they recover from the setbacks is to be seen.

Wiz Khalifa's track "Black and Yellow" has been very beneficial to the musician's career as it has proved a popular track. It is also been the anthem for his hometown Pittsburgh team, the steelers who are one game away from the championship but rapper Lil Wayne has his own take on the track and the New Orleans native has recorded his own track for his hometown team the green bay packers who face the steelers at the weekend.

He's released his take on Wiz's track, "Green and Yellow," a nod to the team's uniform colors on Thursday (February 3). "Got a call from my homey, this just in," Weezy raps over the synthy track. "The Packers in the Super Bowl and they better win / They call him Big Ben, but he weak, though/ We in Dallas, but we Lambeau Leap, ho/ Long hair, don't care, Clay Matthews/ We sh--in' on these fools, no bathroom/ Yeah, got a pocket full of big faces/ Throw it up, touchdown on Ike Taylor."

So the Rappers have took to showing their sport allegiancy and getting behind their home town football teams for the game at the weekend which should be a treat.

Buddy Holly, the iconic rock and roll singer, died today in 1959 when his tour plane crashed after a show he performed in Iowa. The death was paid tribute to in Don McLean's "American Pie" with the line, "the day the music died". He was a mere 22 years old but he was still able by that age to have affected the entire landscape of rock and roll with his work

Fellow American rock stars Ritchie Valens and J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson lives were also taken in the crash when the chartered Beechcraft Bonanza plane crashed in Iowa a few minutes after takeoff from Mason City on a flight headed for Moorehead, Minn. Investigators blamed the crash on bad weather and pilot error. Holly and his band, the Crickets, had just scored a No. 1 hit with "That'll Be the Day."

So tributes to the legendary music star will be made by many artists across the musical spectrum today as they mourn the loss of such an important artist.

Gary Neville Retires

Manchester United defender Gary Neville has announced his retirement from football. It's believed the United legend decided that it is the right time to bow out of the game when he heard he wouldn't be included in United's 25 man squad for the champions league match at Marseille in 2 weeks.

He said: "I have been a Manchester United fan all my life and fulfilled every dream I've ever had. Obviously I am disappointed that my playing days are at an end. However it comes to us all, and it's knowing when that time is. For me, that time is now. I have played in the most incredible teams, playing with and against some of the best players in the world, and I have been lucky to be a part of the club's great success. I am looking forward to new experiences and the club will always be a part of my life. However, the most important thing is for the club to continue with the success synonymous with Manchester United."

It has been rumoured that he will take up the vacant post at Sky Sports as a pundit similar to Andy Gray but that remains to be seen.

China's government run television outlet named CCTV have come into heavy criticism for taking footage from the film "Top Gun" in a TV report relating to the country's fighter jet planes and clearly thought the report needed more spice that only the classic Tom Cruise film could satisfy.

The segment, covering the People's Liberation Army's Air Force, included footage of the J-10 fighter jet soaring through the clouds. In one spot, a J-10 fires off a missile, and CCTV then shows an exploding jet from Top Gun. Smartly, it doesn't leave in the next scene where Tom Cruise celebrates. State-run Chinese media outlets have been criticized in the past for inappropriate use of intellectual property, and quite obviously it's just happened again. In this day and age, I think it'd be pretty tough to convince anyone that the explosion shown on CCTV was real.

So a somewhat funny turn of events from the Chinese TV company and they will surely think twice about repeating the actions.

Towns across America today have joined in paying tribute to ground hog day in the desire to figure out whether the country will see another six weeks of winter or if Spring will come early. The most famous of all the ground hogs is Pennsylvania's "Phil" and the town held it's breath as he appeared today.

The humble town held its annual Groundhog day celebration this morning, Feb 2ndand the results are in! The world’s most famous weather predicting groundhog, Phil, did NOT see his shadow this morning, so according to the folklore, good bye winter, hello early spring! According to Wikipedia, the holiday, which began as a Pennsylvania German custom in southeastern and central Pennsylvania in the 18th and 19th centuries, has its origins in ancient European weather lore, wherein a badger or sacred bear is the prognosticator as opposed to a groundhog.

So if myth is correct there will be an end to the harsh winter conditions and spring will come early!

ground hog day 2011

Ground Hog Day 2011 takes place tomorrow on February 2nd and the most well known of all groundhogs, Punxsutawney Phil will be making his yearly showing at the start of the day, around 7:25am. His fame is partly because he is Pennsylvanian and the first people who celebrated Ground Hog Day were the Germans of Pennsylvania.

Each year, massive crowds gather in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to watch Phil emerge from his burrow on Gobbler’s Knob. February 2nd occurs halfway between the first day of winter and the first day of spring. According to popular tradition and belief, if the groundhog sees his shadow there will be six more weeks of winter weather. If the day is cloudy and he doesn’t see his shadow, then the groundhog stays above the ground anticipating early spring weather.

So a fun day for all who have an affection for the creature and it will take place tomorrow.

Harsh weather conditions have resulted in the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport having to announce that as of 6:30am this morning that it has completely shut down, except for air travelers who were in the airport. The Dallas Love Field is still up and open tho.

There’s no word yet on when DFW will be re-opened but they hope to have the airport re-opened by 7-8 am, according to Airport representative David Magana. Runways and terminals are iced over and, although crews were treating those areas with de-icing agents, Magana said high winds and other factors prevented the airport from continuing to de-ice planes. Before it shut down, hundreds of cancelations had already been issued. The Associated Press reports "DFW Airport spokesman David Magana says one runway has reopened after the temporary closure .. and crews are working to clear the ice from others."

So brutal weather has forced the the eighth largest airport in the world to close and they will be hoping they can re-open as soon as possible.

rock on the range 2011

The Rock On The Range festival bands have been announced and it's decided that A Perfect Circle and Avenged Sevenfold front the 5th annual event. It happens May 21st to the 22nd at the Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, and the event will also see appearances from other huge rock acts such as as Disturbed, Korn, Stone Sour, and Staind.

Other confirmed acts include Danzig, Hollywood Undead, Bullet For My Valentine, Black Label Society, Alter Bridge, A Day To Remember, Hinder, Escape The Fate, All That Remains, P.O.D., The Damned Things, Fu Manchu, Black Veil Brides, Saving Abel, Sick Puppies, Finger Eleven, My Darkest Days, Cavo, Trapt, Rev Theory, and Pop Evil. All in all, some 40 acts will perform across three stages over the weekend. Two-day passes will be prices at $99.50 and layaway purchasing options will be available.

So certainly an exciting prospect for fans of these rock bands and plenty of acts to go and see during the 2 day event.

News has been filtering out of Egypt over the past few days that internet access in the country has been extremely limited. Computerworld reported today; “Egypt is now off the grid.” They write, “Four days after the Egyptian government ordered Internet service providers to disconnect from the Internet, the country’s last working Internet company has abruptly vanished from cyberspace.”

Here in the U.S., there’s a piece of legislation on the table, drafted by Senators Joe Lieberman and Susan Collins, that would offer President Obama a “kill switch,” effectively allowing him to shut down the Internet during a national emergency. Brandon Milhorn, counsel for the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, says, ”We’re not trying to mandate any requirements for the entire Internet, the entire Internet backbone… (just the) crucial components that form our nation’s critical infrastructure.”

So a shocking prospect if a national emergency was ever to arise but according to reports it wouldn't include social network platforms such as Twitter or Facebook.

The Oscar race is hotting up as the SAG awards displayed last night that this year there are no out and out clear winners in each category. The SAG awards was a more standard, calm affair than the Golden Globes. No Ricky Gervais, Risque jokes, outrageous dresses etc and alongside that there were no real surprises.

One small-ish exception being Natalie Portman snagging the SAG for Best Actress. We're betting that Hollywood royalty Annette Bening, nominated for her fourth Oscar (still no wins!) is feeling pretty nervous right now. Most people had her slated to win the SAG, and Portman is her only serious contender for the Oscar. Last night they were up against each other for the first major award -- and Portman won. With this sort of momentum, we're feeling more and more confident that Natalie Portman will end up taking home the Oscar.

So a proud night for the winners of the awards and after last night's proceedings, the oscars are now even more anticipated.

Kim Kardashian's fury was exposed bare on Sunday's "Kourtney and Kim Take New York" episode when she saw a glimpse of her now-controversial nude November 2010 photo spread for W Magazine. She assumed her body would be "obscured" by silver paint and words but not much else.

But it turned out Mark Seliger's arty photographs were left as they were, making Kim appear more naked in W than in her Playboy spread, she claimed. The 30-year-old reality star explained to sisters Kourtney and Khloe that she was crying because she felt "so taking advantage of."

So an unhappy mishap by the reality TV star who is deeply aggrieved by the nature of the photoshoot as she thought it was going to be much less blue.

wwe royal rumble 2011

It's not long now before the 2011 royal rumble kicks off and this year's event is different from the older ones as 40 members will take part. Last year at the 2010 event, Edge and John Cena were the 2 final men left in the ring and Edge managed to spear his opponent and remove him from the ring and become the winner.

Now this time many superstars are new, I mean who are participating first time in their carrier, who is participating like The Nexus and The Corre. Anyway everyone is very waiting for start of event.The Royal Rumble 2011 is scheduled to be held on this Sunday, January 30, 2011, starting at 8PM EST on Pay-Per-View which will have a live stream. The event will take place in Boston, MA. The main event just takes place to have a few ties to Oklahoma also, in the form of Royal Rumble contestant Jack Swagger and former commentator, Jim Ross.

So an eagerly anticipated event tonight for wrestling fans and the winner of the match earns a place in the main event at Wrestlemania this summer where he plays the world champion for the world championship belt.

The 2011 WWE wrestling Royal Rumble is preparing to be spiced up tonight as Dave Meltzer reports that Kevin Nash and Booker T will be in the Wrestling event and likely mystery entrants. With them signing up to WWE it means that TNA Wrestlings schedule to include them in their roster will be killed off.

The former WWE champions were scheduled to return to TNA on Monday as part of the “They” angle that has been building on TNA Impact. Nash and T were scheduled to reunite the Main Event Mafia with Kurt Angle and Sting and defend TNA’s honor. There is nothing coincidental about the signing of two key players a few days before the start of a major angle in TNA and this is nothing more than reminder that if you want to play with the big boys, you better have all of your guys under contract before you count on them for an angle.

So as always with the royal rumble every year there are faces from the past that will be appearing. This time Nash and Booker T.

houston marathon 2011

The eagerly anticipated Houston Marathon 2011 took place this morning and the United States Running Circuit (USARC) happens on Saturday with the race of the Half Marathon Championship of 2011 presented by the Aramco Service Company. It's believed that thousands of runners across the country are said to have took part in the 39th Annual Chevron Houston Marathon.

Apparently, Ryan Hall, got out-kicked down the stretch to finish three seconds slower than the Moroccan-born Mo Trafeh’s 1:02:17, but he was beaming afterward. The roaster list of Houston Marathon 2011 will be Jorge Torres (Boulder, Colo.), an Olympian in 2008 to 10,000 meters, Patrick Smyth (Mammoth Lakes, Calif.), the 2010 half-marathon runner-up, 2004 Olympic Games Dan Browne (Chula Vista, Calif.), Jason Lehmkuhl (Minneapolis, Minn.), 2008 Half-Marathon runner-up, and Sergio Reyes (Los Osos, Calif.) 2010 USA Marathon Champion.

So a hotly contested Marathon in Houston and a proud day for the winners of the mens and womens heats of the run.
