There has been a high profile public coruption probe made by federal agents and taken place ina Washington DC suburb and has lead to a law-enforcement affidavit that made for some compelling reading. This has come from Investigating Jack Johnson, not the popular musician of the same name but a county executive of Prince Georges County, Maryland at the end of his tenure.
Johnson and his wife Leslie were arrested Friday and charged with witness tampering and destroying evidence related to the federal investigation of a pay-to-play scheme. Johnson is accused of accepting money from developers in exchange for getting their projects federal funding. Through informants and wiretaps, the Federal Bureau of Investigation had been building a case for years, according to the affidavit.
So the game appears to be up for the conman and his sentence for these crimes is sure to be a heavy one.
The People's bank of commerce declared that they will be putting $2.5 million worth of stock on offer and they are doing it to help spread it's commercial lending. The privately held bank whose base is on Biddle Road in Medford said 263,158 shares of common stock are on offer at a price of $9.50 per share.
Present stockholders have until Dec. 10 to reserve one new share for every four they now hold. After that date, the limit will be removed for present shareholders, while new investors can buy in with a minimum purchase of 1,000 shares. "We're not raising this money to meet regulatory requirements," said President and Chief Executive Officer Ken Trautman. "As soon as the money comes in we'll be eligible to use it and we'll be putting those dollars to use." Although People's Bank of Commerce's capital position is among the best in the region, Trautman said capital requirements limit annual loan growth to less than 6.5 percent.

Of course I knew that, but one would have been nice anyway. I had already printed out the manual (at work of course) from the Optoma website.
Set up was easy enough but a little time consuming as the settings where totally off. I believe everyone using this projector primarily for home theater will and should set the bulb to standard. The extra lumen will come in handy however when using the 3D glasses to view 3D content.
Once calibrated, picture quality was very impressive for a 720p projector. Blacks were black enough, color and shadow, rich and detailed. The projector does a good job (imo) of scaling 1080p content. I have two Blu-ray players and the projector showed Blu-ray content a lot better with my Philips player so like everything else the source is important.
Overall I'm very happy with my purchase. Couldn't convince the wife at this stage to let me spend the extra money on a 1080p projector, so I was already looking at the HD65. I was encouraged by what was being said by the very early adapters that had pulled the trigger on the dedicated AV forums (God bless them). Early veiwings included Iron Man and Transformers, and Walle and UP for animation, all in Blu-ray on a 72" 16:9 screen and I'm truly impressed. The harshest critic is too, the wife. Picture is as good, if not better, than my Sanyo 42" 1080p plasma. I'm English; my wife is American so were now looking forward to the World Cup being shown in 3D. By the time the tournament begins hopefully the price of active shutter glasses will have fallen enough so were not passing one pair around the room to everybody.
If you have bought this projector from Amazon just post a review good, bad or indifferent. I was compelled to do so because for a long time the only one posted nearly caused me to pass on the HD66. $700 is a lot of money (to me at least), so I utilize reviews all the time without giving back. 35 years ago the Edmund Fitzgerald ship was taken down by a fierce storm on lake Superior and the mystery to this day still lives on. The ship's sinking was the inspiration behind the song from 1976 called "The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald", written by Gordon Lightfoot, and it was also the source of a documentary made about it.
The sinking of the ore freighter claimed 29 lives on Nov. 10, 1975, in what is considered the worst disaster in Great Lakes maritime history. It is being marked Wednesday with a memorial service in Whitefish Point, Mich. But despite an investigation by the U.S. Coast Guard, the mystery of exactly why she went down in that fierce storm has never been solved. The coast guard once blamed the crew, saying they failed to fasten the hatches properly. Members of the maritime community have said that isn't likely in light of the dangerous weather on the lake that night.

The American Marine corps sees it's 235th birthday today and the only present one platoon in Afghanistan is looking for is to see their trusted companion and platoon dog Jujo, return safely to the U.S. Kujo was a stray who drifted onto a military base in Afghanistan and charmed his way into the hearts of the platoon who were residing there, thousands of miles from home.
The Afghan hound dog offered the Marines protection, companionship and comic relief as they trekked for miles through dangerous desert. While it seems that there's so little that can be done to help the people of Afghanistan out of their impossible situation, one Marine named Andy Lindstrom was determined to save Kujo the dog. Kujo already has an adoptive home waiting for him in Waco, Texas. Nowzad is hoping to raise the $5,000 in travel expenses for Kujo through their website.

The US military are still in the dark over who was resposible for a missile launch caught on camera, off the coast of California on Monday Night. The contrail of what appears to be a missile was streaking into the California sunset at around 5pm pacific time on Monday night and it was all caught on tape for the authorities to investigate.
The video drew more attention when local news stations were told by Navy and Air Force officials that they did not launch a missile Monday night. U.S. Northern Command says they are continuing to investigate the origin of the apparent missile launch, but have still not determined if a U.S. military or federal agency was responsible for what appears to be a missile launch. However, in a statement they confirmed "that there is no threat to our nation, and from all indications this was not a launch by a foreign military." NorthCom spokesman John Cornelio says they are continuing to look at every possibility, and "that includes missiles, planes and everything. We simply do not have a definitive answer at this time."
So a bizarre occurence for the military to get to the bottom of and at the moment they don't have any clear idea what it might be.
Reports say a cruise ship which was travelling 200 miles south of San Diego, California, is stranded offshore and is being gradually towed into a Mexican Port after it's power supply was cut off with a fire that went off in the engine room. None of the 3,299 passengers and 1,167 crew members on the Carnival Splendour were hurt when the fire broke out.
The cruise operator, Carnival Cruise Lines, based in Miami, said the ship's air conditioning, hot water and telephone service were not working, but auxiliary power allowed toilets and cold running water to be restored by Monday night. The coastguard, along with the US and Mexican navies, deployed aircraft and ships to help the stricken vessel, which was drifting about 55 miles off the coast of northern Baja. Two Mexican seagoing tugboats, contracted out of the port of Ensenada, are expected to have returned with the ship, escorted by a coastguard cutter, by about 8pm tomorrow.
So a shocking accident which will hopefully be resolved safely tomorrow night for passengers and crew members of the ship.
Today students who took their American College testing (ACT) on October 23, can find out how well they did by searching on the ACT score information website. These scores can also be passed on by students to the colleges and scholarship agencies that they wish to associate themselves with.
A mother of an 8 year old and 5 year old said of the tests "I’m not yet thinking about the ACT, but I do have standardized testing on my mind. Coincidentally, yesterday, my 3rd grader came home from school and announced, “I took a big test today, a real test. I had to fill in circles with a pencil.” She seemed quite proud that she had entered the academic big league, but my husband and I were wary of the introduction of standardized tests. I always did well in school, but I always panicked on standardized tests."
So the debate continues on whether standardized tests are the best way to calculate a students intelligence.

First of all, it is really fast. The 1GHz processor does it's job.
The screen resolution is high and the screen size is big enough to surf the web with comfort.
HTC shell is something new to me (I used to have E-ten with Spb Mobile shell) but getting used to it.
Cannot say that I'm impressed with the still picture quality (SE phones have better pictures with less Mpx) but video recording is relatively good. There is no button for shutter so you always have to click on the screen to take picture - not convenient.

It does not have a stylus. If you turn the phone, full size keyboard is big enough but.. I think I will get a stylus. At least you need one, when you surf Internet.

Let's hope O'Brien's new show on TBS avoids the outages the "fail whale" made famous on Twitter. In the meantime, Twitter co-founders Evan Williams and Biz Stone are going to make an appearance Wednesday on Jimmy Fallon's late-night show. Fallon, a technophile, is also into Twitter. Amazon Customer Review: "I purchased this laptop as a desktop replacement and I use it for gaming, watching movies, writing software, and basic Microsoft Office and web browsing tasks. Overall I am extremely pleased with it and would highly recommend it to others. Here's the breakdown:
PROS:
- This is an extremely fast machine. It boots up in under a minute with Windows 7 and I have yet to notice the occasional lag with starting up programs that I experience with most Windows PC's.
- Newer games like "Dragon Age: Origins" run extremely well on this machine with all of the graphics maxed out
- The screen on this computer is beautiful. The color quality and contrast are extremely good and there is a ton of screen real estate. Some people have complained that it isn't full 1080p but I find that the 1680x945 resolution makes icons and text the perfect size for this size of screen.
- Multitasking works great with a dual-core processor (four virtual cores with hyperthreading) and 4GB of DDR3 RAM. I routinely have 12 Firefox tabs up while watching videos in iTunes and editing four or five MS Office documents. A lot of computers don't like this but the Q860 handles it wonderfully.
- The battery life is over three hours, which is pretty good for such a behemoth.
CONS:
- This is an extremely heavy laptop and I wouldn't recommend it for frequent business travel. That being said, I do use this laptop for grad school and haul it back and forth to class one day a week using a Toshiba 18" gaming backpack and it isn't terrible on my back. I would definitely recommend a backpack if you want to carry this thing around as a normal laptop shoulder bag would probably destroy your neck and shoulder.
- Both Toshiba and Amazon claim on their websites that this keyboard is backlit but unfortunately, it isn't. Amazon customer service handled this issue extremely well after I reported it, so I can't complain about this too much. All X505-series keyboards are compatible so you can probably pick up a backlit one off of eBay if that's a big deal to you.
- There is a decent amount of junkware pre-installed on this system, although not nearly as much as on the last Dell computer I bought. It's kind of annoying that Toshiba does this on a high-performance computer that will probably be purchased by people that don't want or need it.
OVERALL:
- I did a large amount of research before buying this laptop and as of this moment, there isn't a better value out there in gaming laptops than this. It lacks some of the higher-end features such as dual graphics cards, a 1080p display, and solid-state drives, but for the money you can't do better than this. I am now selling both of my desktops and I plan on making this my sole computer."
