Amazon customer review: "Have had this laptop for going on 9 months now. Bought it for $600 on a Best Buy holiday deal. Awesome product for the money - even at $789.
This is my 6th laptop since 2001 and it's my favorite so far. I'm not a big fan of long posts so here it is:
PROS
- Very long battery life
- Excellent HD screen quality
- The Harmon Kardon speakers are loud and crisp. Best sound I've heard from a mid-range laptop
- Number pad on a laptop keyboard & overall good use of space for the keyboard.
- Cool looking backlit LEDs that are flush - some might find weird but I love it.
- Didn't come with a bunch of crappy manufacturer software.
CONS
- Big battery life = big battery. The battery actually puts the laptop on a slant, which again I like, but some may not. The only time I've found it annoying is when I use a slanted lap desk with it (double slant).
- The touchpad/mousepad is to the left of the laptop. It's centered over the keyboard because of the number pad to the right. It took some time to get used to and I used to always touch it accidentally when typing causing some typos. After awhile I bought a wireless mouse anyway and turned the touchpad off."
So a well recommended laptop with plenty of great features at its disposal and certainly would be a very good purchase.
Police report that they have seized the ex-boyfriend of Jenni-Lyn Watson, whose body was found located in a storage shed near Clay Central Park, N.Y., Saturday afternoon. Steven Pieper has arraignment Saturday night at Clay town court and he has claims of killing Watson and leaving her body in a park, laid against him.
Watson and Pieper had an on-and-off relationship over an 18-month period, according to Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick, WSYR-TV reports. The arrest comes hours after Watson's body was found in Clay Central Park, where the search has focused since she disappeared on Nov. 19. Watson's family has been notified and will identify the remains. An autopsy is planned for Sunday morning, WSYR-TV reports. A friend of Watson's, who spoke to FoxNews.com on condition of anonymity, said the young woman had recently broken off an engagement.
So a tragic story which will hopefully be resolved soon and the perpertrators being punished accordingly.
Country music legend, Willie Nelson, has been arrested after officials of a border patrol checkpoint in Texas found six ounces of marijuana located on his tour bus. Nelson, was on his way from California to Austin, Texas, when the bus was seized in Sierra Blanca and a police officer reportedly smelled traces of pot, reports the associated press.
Nelson claimed the marijuana was his, writes the El Paso Times. A total of three people, including Nelson, were arrested. "He could get 180 days in county jail, which if he does, I'm going to make him cook and clean," Hudspeth County Sheriff Arvin West said. "He can wear the stripy uniforms just like the other ones do." This isn't the first time illegal substances were found in Nelson's tour bus. In 2006, nearly 1.5 pounds of marijuana and three ounces of hallucinogenic mushrooms were found inside the bus.
So another unfortunate drug bust on the country and western star and hopefully he'll be more careful in future.
Today sees the chance for small businesses to utilise the hoilday shopping crowds and to cash in with their own featured day. The event today being "small business saturday" has been established to help boost business for smaller merchants during this hectic shopping weekend.
The campaign focuses on social networking to get traffic into small businesses between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, two of the busiest shopping days of the year. Sponsor American Express has given 10,000 businesses $100 worth of free Facebook advertising to help drive online buzz and get customers into their stores. "It's great to have American Express as an advocate for small businesses, being that small businesses are the driving force of the economy here in America today," said one entrepreneur.
So this is a good leg up for small businesses who need to bolster their custom and earnings at the moment.

Amazon customer review: "Okay, I'm 54 and have run regularly, lifted weights but couldn't get the reduction in inches and bodyfat that I wanted. I did P90X in the summer and a month of P90X+. Great programs that got me into the consistent routine of early morning (5 AM) workouts and built overall strength, coordination, and flexibility. With a 2 pound weight loss, but, I admit I was not very careful with the nutrition plan.
Enter Insanity. I cut out white[flour]bakery products, sweets, sweetened drinks, all sodas, and desserts except for once a week. Then I started the craziness. There's no need to tell what's in the package, others have done that. Let me say I lost 12 pounds and an inch and a half off my waistline in 60 days. This on a frame my family and friends said had nothing to lose.
This program works if you follow it. Don't worry about keeping up with the folks on the video because NONE of them do all of the routines to completion on any of the DVDs. You do your best at YOUR pace but it has to be your BEST. It never gets easier because as you get more conditioned, you do more repetitions. You must do the Fit Test because you WILL see improvements and the test won't lie and it will keep you motivated.
It's not easy but it works. Nothing worthwhile is easy so why should this be different? You have to be in decent, not great, shape, and follow the warnings about injuries and other potential health problems because it is a serious workout. But if you get the green light and you stick with it, you won't regret it. There's nothing to it but to do it.
PROGRAM UPDATE: I have completed another four cycles since this first review. I have added some variations such as some running and weight workouts. STILL, I cannot do ANY Insanity routine all the way through without taking a break a couple of times. It's not the agony of when I first started but it's still hard and remains a challenge to keep doing. However, I feel better than I ever have in terms of conditioning and stamina and so does my wife who has started and continued this program after I finished my first cycle."
So definitely a great buy for those who want to try a new fitness regime and one that guarantees big results.

Amazon customer review: "All of the negative reviews you will find about this netbook (fine, netvertible) are from senseless users that are expecting this mini-powerhouse to be a full laptop replacement. If you are an educated consumer (and even if you are not) you will find that this machine lives up to all of the hype if you take a day to really enjoy it.
As soon as I booted up the machine, it was incredibly responsive. The default Lenovo configuration is pretty good, even though there is some start-up junk that slows down your initial boot. Me, being the user I am, immediately installed Windows 7 Professional to maximize my tablet experience.
The Goods:
The incredible screen responsivness! -It is even better than my iPhone!
The incredible battery life! (6-8 hours)
Very sturdy build. This machine is light, but feels awesome in your hands.
The processor, hard drive, and the memory is enough for limitless tablet fun!
It FLIES. With both Win7 Starter and Pro, this machine is very quick and will not leave you waiting like some others.
The Bad:
The battery is a tad large for my taste, BUT makes for a really nice grip while in tablet mode.
No bluetooth.
The "Eh"
People seem to be complaining about the keyboard quality. What they need to realize is that this is a netvertible tablet, not a desktop or full laptop. Yes, the keyboard feels a little looser than other netbooks, but be serious, you are not going to be purchasing this machine for its keyboard quality. Even so, I am composing this entire review on that "terrible" keyboard, and it is very comfortable.
The touchpad with the integrated buttons is a little funky, but OH WAIT, I can touch the screen!!!!
Overall, I would have to say that this is one of the best netbooks I have ever had the chance to use. Lenovo has really done it again, and I am very very happy with my purchase. Whether you are looking for something to travel with that you can have a little fun with, or if you are just looking to get over the boring, touchless, machine you use on a regular basis; this is the way to go.
This is the future of notebooks and netbooks. You will NOT be disappointed."
So an impressive piece of hardware from Lenovo which is at the forefront of computing technology with it's practical size and efficiency.

Cyber Monday deals used to be considered the sloppy seconds as it was the items that didn't sell on the big retail event of Black Friday 3 days earlier but over the last three years the event has come on in leaps and bounds. Now deals on Cyber Monday can be just as impressive as the ones on Black Friday and the trick is to buy items that are easy to ship and usually sell online.
"You're going to see a lot of things on Cyber Mondays, like accessories for your smartphone, movies, and games, and books," says Brent Shelton, marketing spokesman for Fat Wallet, an online shopping resource based in Rockton, Ill. Will the deals be as good? "I think they're going to be comparable," he says.Retailers are aiming at a different demographic on Cyber Monday. Black Friday shoppers are those who come to stores. And they tend to be older, less affluent, and often pay cash, says Fiona Dias, executive vice president of strategy and marketing for GSI Commerce, an Internet commerce consulting firm based in Philadelphia.
So keep your eyes peeled online for these offers and you could pick up something very impressive.
On the holidays, TV sports shows tend to show feature programmes that are meant to tug at the heart strings of viewers and tonight sees CBS' NFL pregame show feature a show in the late Cincinnati Bengal Chris Henry which saw host James Brown get chocked up on the reflection of the legend. It features Henry's mother, Carolyn Henry Glasby, talking about the recipients of organs from her son, who died in an accident last year at age 26.
Following the report, an overcome Brown said "wow" and was unable to continue speaking.
Colleague Boomer Esiason stepped in and told viewers he'd signed up to be an organ donor and reminded that "you too can give the gift of life. … I just want to say to Carolyn, as the father of a cystic fibrosis patient who may some day have to go through a lung transplant: you have touched millions today with your story and thank you so very much for being a hero today."
So a touching story which is sure to see a few more tears shed on watching it and is a nice testament to the great character of Chris Henry.
Today NBC will be showing the annual "National Dog Show" which is presented by Purina. This will be hosted by expert commentators David Frei and Host John O'Hurley. The American kennel club has six new breeds to recognise this year which include the bluetick coonhound, the redbone coonhound, the Boykin spaniel, the Cane Corso, the Icelandic sheepdog and the Leonberger.
However, O'Hurley will be appearing with one less dog in his life. "We had some sad news this year," he tells Zap2it. "Skoshi, our Maltese, finally passed away at the age of 20 years and four months. I guess the oldest dog in the world was 21, but he was getting up there. We had to, but it was kind of a sad day." O'Hurley's household does still include a Havenese and a King Charles spaniel. "They're doing great," says O'Hurley. "They sleep with us at night, and now we have a four-year-old boy who's trying to weasel his way into the mix."
So a treat for dog trainers and lovers throughout the United States and will be fascinating viewing for the judges.
Friday night saw Michael Grimm performing in his hometown of Waveland and to the satisfaction of thousands of fans which excitedly awaited his appearance on stage. Grimm is a native of the Waveland area and is using his fame gained from winning America's Got Talent to help tourism rates in Hancock County. The millionaire played in front of many local fans but also to many people who travelled from far and wide.
Teresa Williams said, "Yes, I drove. I started last night about seven o'clock, and here we are." Decked out in Grimm gear, including the infamous hat, Teresa Williams drove more than 1,000 miles from Chicago to see the singer she adores. "He is so sweet. He is such a genuine person. He is absolutely wonderful. I mean he is adorable," said Williams. Merchandise flew off the shelves as fans supported the Waveland native. But they were also supporting Hancock County since BP money paid for the show in hopes of boosting tourism.
So it's good to see the America's Got Talent winner utilising his fame to gain more exposure to his local area and help it boost it's income.

Amazon customer review: "Seriously - with all the terrible reviews regarding wireless notebook cards in general, it's surprising that this form of networking ever caught on.
I was very reluctant to try any of the cards, until I saw this one was discounted down to just under $10...I figured, worst case scenerio, I'm out just the $10...on the other hand, if it works, it would certainly increase the value of my laptop...
When I say that installation was a breeze, I mean, it was just as simple as pushing the card into the slot..Windows XP detected the card and found the drivers on the CD, and literally, within 30 seconds, I was surfing the 'net. I was quite surprised to find that I live inside a 'hotspot', being that there is an 'internet cafe' within a block of my house.
That laptop has now become my primary computer, and I simply couldn't be happier -
*As a side note, I did use the software that Belkin sent with the card for about a day, and decided I liked the XP interface much better...but that's just personal preference...good work, guys!"
So a very handy piece of hardware which provides a quick and easy way to form a connection between networks.
Wireless USB 2.4ghz Bluetooth 2.0 Dongle Adapter for Pc Laptop Notebook
Bluetooth enables you to get more of what you want done with it's power. If you want to send files between your computer and any bluetooth-enabled device, such as cell phones, PDAs, printers and headsets you can in a flash. You can also make on-the-fly networks between two computers with Bluetooth.
This simple USB adapter acts as an antenna for your computer, giving it Bluetooth capability. The dongle comes with a full version of BlueSoleil software and drivers. However, the software is not licensed to every type and model of hardware that is capable of using Bluetooth. If the software detects hardware that does not match the license keys it expects, then the software will impose a 5MB data transfer limitation. To overcome that limitation, users must purchase a different version of BlueSoleil software separately. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Amazon customer review: "I've got a Palm Tungsten E2 and a Razr cell phone which have bluetooth capability. I bought this inexpensive little item to use on my Mac computer in one of the USB ports. Now I can transfer photos and video from my cell to the computer and move files and photos in both directions on my Palm. The one drawback is its so tiny its easy to misplace on your desk. It will run on any Mac/PC tower or laptop and at least for Macs it was recognized immediately by the OS and performed perfectly. I might get a second one to keep permanently with my laptop so I don't have to remove it from my desktop computer."
So a very reliable and efficient piece of hardware from Bluetooth which will enable connectivity between computers and other devices.
Famous female boxer, Christy Martin, who clocked up a career record of 49-5-3 (31 KOs), has been taken to hospital after being shot and stabbed yesterday and it took place in her Orange County, Florida home say reports from TMZ. The 42 year old ex boxing legend and cover of a 1996 "sports illustrated" cover reportedly escaped her home following the attack and was able to wave down a motorist.
After she was rushed to the hospital, she managed to tell police that the attacker was her husband, James Martin, according to the TMZ report. The report goes on to state that James Martin is still at large and they are currently "on the hunt" for the suspected attacker. Don King, Martin's former promoter told TMZ, "I am shocked and saddened to see this happen to Christie. I send my prayers and well wishes."
So a horrible event that the former boxing legend has had to suffer and hopefully she will be able to recuperate soon.
The countdown has begun to Thanksgiving which happens tomorrow and apart from celebrating by tucking into turkey, cranberries and stuffing you can also check out quotes from big names in entertainment on the holiday and see their insight and humourous takes on it:
- “Thanksgiving, man. Not a good day to be my pants.” -Kevin James
- “I love Thanksgiving turkey. It’s the only time in Los Angeles that you see natural breasts.” -Arnold Schwarzenegger
- The pilgrims made seven times more graves than huts… nevertheless, set aside a day of thanksgiving.” -H. W. Westermayer
- “There is no sincerer love than the love of food.” -George Bernard Shaw
- “An optimist is a person who starts a new diet on Thanksgiving Day.” –Irv Kupcinet
So some nice slices of wit there from big names in entertainment and they certainly nail a lot of the notions behind the holiday.

HP Mini 110-1127NR 10.1" Netbook (1.60GHz Intel Atom Processor N270, 1 GB RAM, 250 GB Hard Drive, Windows 7 Starter) Pink
The Internet is at the forefront of everybody's life nowadays, keeping you notified of news and developments in the world and with your contacts through email, IMs, RSS feeds, social networking sites and Search. Staying informed requires time shifts with devices such as netbooks.
Powered by energy-efficient Intel Atom processors, the HP Mini 110 is optimized for Web access and can handle standard productivity apps - but is light enough to carry everywhere at just 2.33 lbs. Its LED anti-glare display reduces reflection that can distract from the visual experience, especially when used outside. The 92% of full-size keyboard enables much more efficient and comfortable use than texting (or typing on smartphone keyboards) for most. Windows 7 makes locating and connecting to hotspots easier and faster than ever. The HP Mini 110 is the perfect device for staying productive, informed and in touch.
Amazon customer review: "Small and compact, fits perfectly in my book bag and weighs less than 3lbs. The battery life that I have experienced has been awesome, mine came with a 6-cell battery so I am looking at around 8 hours of battery life, but I haven't timed nor tested this. I read another comment that was posted regarding the size of the netbook with the 6-cell battery in place. I agree that the pictures do not illustrate this, however, we're talking an extra inch...maybe...in height on the backside. A plus to this extra inch is that the netbook now tilts forward which makes it easier for typing, kind of like the little "stilts" underneath a desktop keyboard. FYI, with the 6-cell battery in place it still fits in my caselogic 10.3in case/sleeve that I bought for it.
I have had my netbook for about a week now and I am really enjoying it. It gives me everything I need for school and now I don't have to move around a cumbersome laptop, not to mention the battery life is about 2.5 times longer than most laptops.
Perfect for taking notes in class, working through excel, viewing PowerPoint, and checking email. I plan on putting it in the kitchen when I am done with grad school so my wife and I can store recipes or anything else we may need. With the wireless hook up and the compact size for $350 this netbook is a great addition to your home network.
One thing to remember, most netbooks (if not all) do not have CD/DVD Drives, so loading software such as MS Office will require you to purchase an external Disc Drive, about $100, or you will have to borrow a friend's to load your software. The other option is downloading the desired software program off of the internet and loading the software that way.
*UPDATE* I've had my netbook for a few weeks now and it has proven to be one of the best electronic purchases I have ever made. The ability to type and organize my notes while in class is amazing, I will never go back to taking notes by hand. Also, the independent operating system that you can access without booting up the full windows 7 is phenomenal. It allows me to turn on my computer and be up in running in less than 8 seconds. I can access music, email, pictures, skype, chat, and the internet all from this quick boot-up feature. I simply can't say enough good about this netbook. Pure and simple - A Great Buy!"
So another well recommended netbook from HP which offers efficient display of programs as well as offering a stylish image which is easy on the eye.
HP Mini 210-1040NR 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - 9.75 Hours of Battery Life
If you're looking for a slick, stylish netbook and to be noticed when out and about with it, this is just the model for you. It is also small and practical with it's style and the HP Mini 210 lets you browse the web, stay connected, and be entertained wherever you are. Enhance the fun by playing videos and music or use it to show off your favourite photos.
Exclusive, integrated software keeps you in sync with your life by letting you e-mail, chat, and instantly access your files from anywhere. Take just what you need And leave the rest on your primary PC. At less than one inch thin and starting at just 2.69 pounds, this ultra-compact PC won’t weigh you down. You’ll enjoy a 16:9 10.1" diagonal BrightView Infinity display and nearly full-size keyboard.
Amazon customer review: "I shopped around looking for deals and at different models for about 2-3 months. Did lots of research on features and performance, and was overwhelmed at how man of these netbooks have the exact same internals as all the others. I finally went with the HP Mini 210-1055NR because it has the full glass over the entire screen and bezel that makes it look so much better than the 110 or similar dells. This just creates such a more aesthetically pleasing look to the entire netbook. It also had a little better specs than all the other clones that were budget priced all over the web (Acers, Dells, HP 110s) and with the extra RAM I bought for it, and the easy access panel that allows you to remove the entire bottom cover of the netbook, the upgrade was simple and performance is great!
I recommend this to anyone looking at getting a netbook for either easy writing or surfing. I haven't played with HPs linux instant on software that comes preinstalled, but Windows 7 starter works just fine, despite previously hearing bad things about its limitations, I with it and am happy I chose it over the severely outdated XP.
One thing that is crucial to do is remove as much of the bloatware that HP installs by default on their new systems. You will see a significant performance boost and less harddrive space taken up by clearing off all the trial games and software that come with your new HP."
So an ideal handy and stylishly impressive notebook computer from HP in which you are bound to be the envy of others if you own it.
The only regrets that Colin Campbell possibly has about the infamous e-mails he wrote concerning the discipline of ex NHL referee Dean Warren, it’s that they were made public. “Your e-mails are personal, you thought. But they’re not dishonest,” the NHL disciplinarian said Monday on a radio interview. “If I knew the world would be reading my e-mails, I might have wrote them differently.”
Campbell was on Toronto’s The Fan 590 to explain the now-infamous e-mails he exchanged with former director of officiating Stephen Walkom that were submitted as evidence in a legal dispute involving the firing of Warren in 2007. “I have no regrets (firing Warren). We did everything right,” he said. “Dean just couldn’t make it as a referee. There was nothing personal. We had no agendas against him. He just had a problem officiating.”
So campbell stands firm on his position regarding Stephen Walkom. Just a shame that his emails were exposed and the furoure arose from the result.
UDOT, the Utah Department of Transportation, is prepared for a big storm occuring in the state and is taking precautions immediately. One way the department is combatting against the weather trouble is with UDOT trucks which will be filled with a brine solution and it will be sprayed on roads and bridges throughout the area in place of the typical spread of salt.
The solution helps prevent snow and ice from sticking on the roads, as opposed to the regular salt which will just blow away in the projected 50 mile-per-hour winds. Fox says UDOT has prepared 500 plows to move across the state as needed. UDOT supervisor Jake Brown told ABC Salt Lake City, “They’re telling us this is going to be a bad storm and our weather guys say once the storm comes in the temperatures are going to plummet.” UDOT advises people to stay home and avoid roadways to stay safe. For people that need to drive, they recommend leaving early and driving slowly, leaving plenty of room for plows to work.
So a major operation is underway for the people of Utah to take heed of the warnings and to grin and bear through the harsh conditions.
Utah should prepare for blizzards today it's been reported by ksl, and just in time for one of the most eventful travel days of the year. The most current prediction from the national weather service says that a storm front will hit Ogden between 4:30pm and 5:00pm and then appear in Salt lake City between 5:30pm and 6:00pm and high winds may emerge even before the front occurs.
Meteorologists say the 3 to 6 inches of snow anticipated in the valleys is not the problem -- it's the combination of snow, extreme cold and possibly damaging winds. Glen Merrill, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Salt Lake, said, "This will far surpass anything that we've seen, probably for the last several years." The storm will begin in the north, move south and could affect most of the state. It should end by noon Wednesday.
So if you or anybody you know are in those areas at these times help take precautions against anything hazardous happening for you.
Vince Neil is the most famous name in the cast of Skating With The Stars and although at first sight it seems that he is out of his depth and entering a whole new world, the Motley Crue frontman took figure skating lessons as a kid so he will have some knowledge of what charactersitics he will need to survive.
Vince Neil has seen the good times and the bad. If there is one thing that could be said about Neil it is that he is known to have a temper. His fights with the other members of the band are things of legend. He supposedly attacked a prostitute in Nevada. He was arrested for attacking a music producer and he was arrested and accused of knocking out an employee at the nightclub Gilley’s Dallas after an argument over sound levels during concert. He is a hot head, but is also known to be a very cool guy. I wonder which we will get on the show.
So it will be a very interesting watch, especially for fans of LA glam metal band Motley Crue who will see the aging singer in a whole different light after the show.
JVC Everio GZMG37 30GB HDD Digital Media Camcorder with 32x Optical Zoom
The age of digital tapes is a bygone thing and having to worry about exchanging mini DVD discs is another expired tradition as the time for hard drive recording is finally upon us. The JVC GZ-MG37 Everio camcorder boasts a 30 GB hard drive for recording seven hours of DVD movie-quality video--all in a remarkably small and lightweight package.
Now when you're on the go, all you have to bring is the camera--leave the tapes and recordable DVDs at home. The GZ-MG37 records in high-quality MPEG-2, the same format used for DVD movies. And because the camcorder employs a tapeless format, you can easily delete unwanted scenes, or instantaneously skip to the exact segment of footage you want to view--no fast forwarding or rewinding.
To protect the hard disk drive from shocks and vibrations, Everio camcorders have a protective floating suspension system that effectively dampens vibrations through advanced polymer shock absorbers. There's also a motion sensor that automatically senses sudden acceleration and turns off the power to protect the hard disk drive even if the camera is dropped. With a 30 GB hard drive, you can record to your heart's content. The camera features four different recording modes that let you choose the best balance between quality and recording time. In the highest quality mode, "Ultra," you'll get seven hours of recording time at full DVD image quality (720 x 480/60i) and with full Dolby Digital audio. Meanwhile, choosing the lowest quality mode, called Eco mode, gives you a whopping 37 hours of recording time
Amazon customer review: "This camera works great, even in low light. Colors are clean, focus is clear, stabilization works fine. I don't see any artifacts at all and I've been shooting video since 1988. My only complaint is that the start-up time ought to be quicker for a hard-drive camera. I picked up a slightly used specimen on ebay a few months ago for about $200-300 less than typical street prices and I am delighted with the results. Even the editing software does what I need it to do. If you want Hi-Def, then go take a gander at Hi-Def prices!"
So clearly a very good choice to opt for when wanting to splash out on a hdd camcorder which has plenty of storage space and recording time.

Amazon customer review: "I usually don't write reviews, but in this case I felt that I had to. This unit was very easy to mount and run wires for. The picture quality is very very good, especially for the price. I have friends who install these types of systems all the time, and they couldn't even come close to the price of this system. I have worked with cctv systems in the past, and the usb flash drive backup is a very nice feature. With a 500gb hard drive, you will get a couple of weeks of video that you can review. I cannot speak as to the longevity of this system, as it has only been installed since yesterday, but so far, I am extremely pleased with this purchase."
So a very efficient, well recommended tracking CCTV system which seems value for money and can meet your surveillance needs.
Snow falls heavily in Issaquah today but it hasn't affected the traffic or pupils from going to school and all of the schools in the area opened as usual this morning. However the district did cancel the afternoon kindergarten, early childhood education, head start and all-after school events for schoolgoers because of the snow.
City Public Works Operations Department crews worked through the night to apply de-icer to city streets. In addition, all city Parks & Recreation Department recreation programs continue to run as scheduled. Find up-to-date information on the municipal website. The city reminds property owners to clear sidewalks, because the abutting property owner has the responsibility to keep sidewalks clear of snow and ice.
So warnings show you need to be extra careful if you are residing in the Issaquah area and to stay tuned for weather reports on an improvement in conditions.
The yearly list of the most dangerous cities in America has just been released today and it shows St.Louis, Missouri at the top of the list at number one. The study also states that for every 100,000 residents, there were 2700.1 violent crimes that occurred in St.Louis in 2009 and 429.4 violent crimes per 100,000 residents is regarded as the national average.
Some of the other most dangerous cities to make the list were Detroit, Michigan, Flint, Michigan, and Oakland, California. So where is the safest city in America? That would be Colonie, New York. Colonie has had the honor of the safest city with a population over 75,000 for the second year in a row. The FBI calculates the rankings of the cities with population and crime data that they gather. The FBI stated that often times the rankings are unfair, and does not endorse them.
So bad reading for the people of St. Louis who will be feeling more fearful of their safety knowing their city has such a bad record.

Amazon customer review: "I just got a hold of this 5800 Xpress Music. This is an amazing new device which shows why Nokia dominates the mobile phone market with a big choice of innovative designs and experiences suitable for each individual user.
The price is unbeatable. You'll keep hearing this line about the price, and when you get a hold of it, you'll agree.
This is the phone with the most complete set of features I have ever wanted.
The device is light, feels ready for some hard knocks, it is a little bulky (compared to my trusted E51:).
Update to the latest firmware 11.0.008, and you'll feel much better about the usability of this device
It's not quite "touch" sensitive, but "press" sensitive. This proves to be an advantage, since I'm more in control when I use the device on a bus, train, boat or tuk-tuk (a 3 wheel vehicle, with 2 stroke engine, sort of a "Thai Model-T" seen all over Bangkok).
The switch between portrait and landscape mode, is actually much simpler and quite natural once I got the hold of it.
I set up access to my GMAIL account within 2 mins.
Messaging App, Options->Settings->Email, say "Yes" to Define Mailbox, Enter Email Address, Password, choose POP3 or IMAP4, and I'm connected to my GMail Account!
You can choose the best way you see fit to enter text
1. Handwriting recognition
Took 5 minutes to get used to it. I don't quite like writing in block letters, but the 5800 handled fast writing quite ok. I'm overly critical of all current handwriting recognition products, since they don't even come close to the Newton, way back when I could expect my own handwriting to be recognized.
2. Small QWERTY keyboard
Most typically used in portrait mode but much more readable than WinMobile keyboards
3. Full QWERTY keyboard
It felt more stable than the iPhone QWERTY keyboard. I prefer to "press" the keyboard as is needed with the 5800 XpressMusic. I don't like the iPhone QWERTY key since it's too sensitive to touch and I can't type when I'm on the move. I've never been able to get used to the Blackberry or E71 style full QWERTY keyboard.
The 5800 XpressMusic full QWERTY keyboard switches to landscape mode and feels almost right that I have to use 2 thumbs to reach all the keys...almost like 2 hand typing.
4. Alphanumeric Keypad for traditional one-thumb typing with T9.
There's a really cool driving game that shows the 5800 XpressMusic sensitivity to turns. You literally hold the phone with both hands and "steer" the car!
The media player (from RealPlayer) is much improved, allowing me to play more types of VDO format files. Quite useful to get the nice video podcasts downloaded and find that they are actually viewable on the device.
The Music Player is the same. Sound quality is really good through the speakers.
The Media Gallery is a little static, with all files arranged as a grid. The N95 Media Gallery would be a nice touch.
You will soon see many useful applications on Nokia's range of "touch" handsets.
This device requires developers to publish a Symbian sdk5 version of their application.
We tested a few apps released for Symbian sdk3 devices (N-Series and E-Series mainly), and they almost always worked without any changes."
So a very impressive phone with superb capabilities to play video and capture it with the greatest of ease alongside other superb features.
Nokia N97 mini 8 GB Unlocked Phone, Free GPS with Voice Navigation and Navigation/Car Kit--U.S. Version with Full U.S. Warranty (Black)
This phone has been built to meet the needs of internet-savvay mobile users who also value style, the Nokia N97 Mini takes all the great features of its full-sized N97 predecessor and practically compacts it by half an ounce in size and in turn makes it 12 percent slimmer in profile.
Like it's bigger sibling, the N97 Mini includes a full QWERTY keyboard that flips open at an angle for optimal viewing, as well as a touch-enabled 3.2-inch display for easy navigation through the phone's customizable home screen.
With integrated GPS sensor and the newest edition of Ovi Maps (full version pre-loaded on this phone or available as a free download from nokia.com/maps), you'll enjoy all essential car and pedestrian navigation features, and the ability to use navigation features even when not connected to a cellular network--great for extending battery life and saving on international roaming charges. You'll also be able to keep moving in the right direction with the integrated electronic compass.
And the N97 Mini comes with a Nokia Navigation Accessory Kit, which includes a mobile charger and Nokia mobile holder with easy mount that enables you to mount the N97 Mini to your dash or window.
The N97 Mini includes 8 GB of on-board storage and is expandable via optional microSD memory cards (up to 16 GB in size). It also includes integrated Wi-Fi connectivity (802.11b/g) for accessing open networks at work, home, and on the road from a variety of wireless hotspots. Unlocked Phone
This unlocked cell phone can be used with a GSM network service provider, and it offers quad-band connectivity (850/900/1800/1900 MHz). It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider. This phone comes with a full manufacturer's warranty.
Additionally, this phone can be paired with 850/1900 MHz UMTS/HSDPA 3G networks in the United States (as well as 900/2100 MHz 3G networks found around the world, including in Europe and Asia). When paired with a compatible 3G network, you'll enjoy a high-speed connection offering a variety of feature-rich wireless services--from data connectivity to your office to multimedia streaming, and take advantage of simultaneous voice and data services. In areas not served by a 3G network, you'll continue to receive data service via the EDGE network (depending on network compatibility).
Note that the downloading of maps, games, music, and videos, and uploading of images and videos, involves transferring large amounts of data. Your service provider may charge for the data transmission, and the availability of particular services and features may vary by carrier.
Amazon customer review: "I'm a gadget nut, with a particular affinity for Nokia and Symbian, which I find far more robust and user friendly than many of the other options out there. I've used a number of Nokia E-series products, and returned to my E71 again and again - like many people, I think it's one of the best smart phones ever made. Nonetheless, I recently tried the N97 (twice). I returned the first one - it was clearly not ready for prime time. The second time around was better, because the firmware was more evolved; however, the phone was just too big for me, particularly after using the E71.
When the N97 mini became available, I was initially put off by the negative reviews, including those that made it seem like less than the n97, but for about the same cost. I'm glad I ignored those reviews. This is a phenomenal phone, starting with the phone. In my opinion, Nokia is matched only by Blackberry when it comes to signal strength and call quality, and I don't understand why professional reviews just gloss over the phone capability - for me, it's one of the most important features of a phone. The home screen is highly modifiable - something that was a deal killer for me re: iPhone (I don't want to know that I have an email; I want to be able to see the email itself without having to dig down through four menus). The web browser is snappy and excellent. The size is perfect. Build quality far exceeds that of the N97, and is on par with the E71. The touch screen is very responsive - I've read a lot about resistive vs. capacitive; however, I was never comfortable with the iPhone but feel that mini works very well.
If you're on AT&T and are bemoaning the fact that you can't get a decent Android phone, then get this. You'll be happy you did.
All and all, very pleased with the purchase. The only cautionary note is that if you use all of the widgets and leave things on, like greader, facebook, etc., you'll def. run into battery issues. But you would with any phone."
So clear to see that this is a very high calibre smartphone with plenty of features to satisfy any smartphone buyer but all delivered with style and efficiency.
Saturday saw the death of ex Playboy Club bunny and Milwaukee police officer Laurie "Bambi" Bembenek who launched the phrase "Run Bambi Run". She was taken by a case of liver failure at a hospice care centre in Portland, Oregon, said her longtime attorney, Mary Woehrer.
Bembenek worked briefly as a Playboy Club waitress in Lake Geneva before becoming a police officer in Milwaukee, where she married detective Fred Schultz. Bembenek was convicted in 1982 of fatally shooting his ex-wife, Christine Schultz, after allegedly complaining about the alimony he had to pay. Bembenek was sentenced to life in prison but spent more than two decades insisting on her innocence and never fully clearing her name. Her attorney said on Sunday that effort will continue.
So a sad end to Bembenek's struggle for justice and fighting for her innocence but the case will continue into her death.
Rob Lytle was a linchpin in one of the most deadly rivarlies in NFL history. He was involved in the infamous tuck rule play which is why the Denver Broncos-Oakland Raiders rivalry is so heated as the Raiders saw him as being the reason the tuck rule play occured. Lytle tracially died Saturday Night of a massive heart attack at the age of 56.
In the AFC championship game on Jan. 1, 1978, Lytle, a tough running back with a nose for the end zone, fumbled at the 2 and Denver scored on the drive, giving Denver a 14-3 lead in the third quarter. The problem was that television replays (these were the days long before NFL challenges) showed that Oakland safety Jack Tatum forced a fumble in a mid-air collision before Lytle scored. Oakland nose tackle Mike McCoy scooped up the ball and was bringing the ball back for an easy score.
So a sad day for die hard fans of Denver Broncos but memories of Rob Lytles achievements will live on and be talked about for decades to come.
Lindsay Lohan is having to face the brutal truth that even your most die hard fans won't wait around forever. The inferno bosses who had backed up the 24-year old actress despite battles she had with legal problems and rehab, have finally given up and had to sever ties as the filming date draws closer.
"Lindsay had scheduling issues due to legal obligations and is continuing to focus on getting better in rehabilitation in Palm Springs, and she really had to focus on that in our opinion – and hers," says the film's producer, Chris Hanley. "For herself and her career in general it was really her decision to just focus on getting better psychologically." Lohan is being replaced by Watchmen Star Malin Akerman. "Malin was passionate to take this challenge of the role to task," says Hanley, "and we feel she has the talent to meet that challenge."
So an unfortunate turn up for the former child starlet and she will have to continue her rehabilition until she is ready to take on new film challenges.
Daniel Vassallo of Massachusetts was victor in the philadelphia marathon today and finished the race in a time of 2:21:28. His performance was impressively strong and as a whole he had a great race. Mariska Kramer was the first for the women and she finished in a time of 2:38:55.
Philadelphia Area runners were a strong presence in the race. Ross Martinson, 32, of Conshohocken finished 13th in 2:27:33. James Rowan, 59, of Gwynedd Valley was 15th in 2:27:55. Andrew Conrad, 35 of Berwyn was 20th in 2:28:39. Emily Hulme, 25, of Havertown was the second overall female (114th overall) in 2:44:30. Nicki Kracun of Philadelphia, age 35, was the 4th female and 138th overall in 2:48:10. 23 year old Mary Kelly of Broomall was the sixth female in 2:49:28. Local favorite Abby Dean finished 16th among the female runners in 2:52:31.
So a proud day for many of the participants and everyone that partook in the race should be feeling proud after accomplishing such a feat.
