There is a monster on Lake Windermere in England by myth to be called "Bownessie" and it's been reported that the beast might have finally been caught on camera (pictured left). Of course the image is a bit fuzzy but was taken by a young couple whilst kayaking on the lake according to the UK's Daily Mail newspaper.

Tom Pickles, 24, and Sarah Harrington, 23, snapped the shot with a cell phone and were interviewed about the incident: "I thought it was a dog" said Tom. "Then I realised it was much bigger and moving really quickly. Each hump was moving in a rippling motion and it was swimming fast. I could tell it was much bigger underneath from the huge shadow around it. Its skin was like a seal's but its shape was abnormal - it's not like any animal I've ever seen before."

Experts opinion on the image say it's genuine but the file is too small to know whether it's been tampered with but it may not even be a monster.

poughkeepsie shooting

A shooting has occured on Friday in Poughkeepsie where a NY police officer, a man and a woman, reported to be husband and wife, have all been killed in a rapid turn of events that seemed to be centered around an argument over a child. The child is reported as being fine amidst the fracar.

It began at around 1 p.m. Friday when police received a call about a woman shot, and arrived on the scene to find a woman wounded in a car and a man walking away holding a small child, police said. "When [a police officer] tried to confront the suspect, he tried to run from him," Poughkeepsie Police Chief Ronald Knapp said. The officer was able to overtake the suspect and confront him a second time, and he somehow got the 3-year-old child out of the man's arms and gave the toddler to a bystander as other police arrived.

So a shocking turn of events emerging from the area of poughkeepsie sees 3 people murdered and more details about the event to no doubt be revealed.

migraine aura

Serene Branson, The reporter for CBS who seriously messed up her lines when reporting at the grammys has been diagnosed with not a stroke but a "migraine aura".

The previous diagnosis from doctors was a "complex migraine" but now according to reports in the LA times, the reporter experienced a migraine aura.

Symptoms for a migraine aura include visual, language and sensory problems. Branson said she suffered from blurred vision and numbness and tingling in her face and hands, two key symptoms of migraine aura according to Dr. Andrew Charles, director of UCLA's headache research and treatment program. The final set of symptoms is what audiences saw: dysphasic language dysfunction. Dr. Charles told the L.A. Times that DLD happens when the victim knows what she wants to say "but can't come up with the words."

So the real reason behind the reporter's bizarre turn has seemingly been revealed and will make more people aware of such an ailment occuring.

ricky lee kalichun

Last month police laid charges against ricky lee kalichun (pictured left) for using a weapon as intimidation alongside public intoxication as it was revealed that he reportedly tried to attack an old roommate with a sword for not returning video games, according to the Evansville Courier and Press.

And that mug shot? He had apparently covered his face with black marker - as a disguise? Kalichun had put on his warpaint for this mission. Inside his former roomie's apartment he started unplugging the appliances and, when they hustled him out into the hall, Kalichup pulled a sword and started swinging for the fences. No one was hurt, luckily. Aside from the tribal designs on his cheeks, I think I make out a sun and what appears to be a desert landscape on his forehead.

So a bizarre case for the police to have to deal with and certainly not one of ricky lee kalichun's best days!

Britney Spears released the music video for new song "Hold It Against Me" on Thursday night and it has much appeal for everyone, especially if you're on the lookout for new record buys. In the video Spears dances in a wedding dress, then fist fights herself but the real focal point is her own perfume products, dating site plentyoffish.com and sony electronics.

“You just cannot deny / there’s a spark in between us,” she sings, but the spark feels imposed more by the quick edits and bravura setpieces of director Jonas Akerlund than anything else; her dance moves are scarcely shown, spliced into strobelight-second flashes of small, I’m-trapped-in-an-invisible-box movement. It’s hard not to wonder: Is Britney having any fun?

So certainly a hot topic regarding her new music and whether it will be as much of a smash hit as past releases.

Father of classical piano group "The 5 Browns" has just pledged guilty to sexually abusing his daughters when they in their childhood and now will have to go to prison for life. The trial was instigated when his daughters who are now 26, 30 and 32 went to the police after finding out their father was going to manage other child musicians.

55-year-old Keith Scott Brown was charged with one count of first-degree felony sodomy upon a child, and two counts of second-degree felony sexual abuse of a child. According to court documents, the abuse lasted sporadically from 1990-1998. Sentencing is scheduled for March -- and he faces anywhere between ten years to life in prison.

So a harrowing tale is hopefully going to find justice when the case reaches it's conclusion in the next month and Keith Scott Brown gets his sentence.

Rick Santorum is looking to run for the GOP nomination for president and is currently aggrieved with is what is termed as a "google problem". He's made it well known in the media about the problem which is maybe not the best idea but maybe is depending on whether you're also a candidate for president.

What is Santorum's Google problem? Chances are, you know it already -- "Savage Love" columnist Dan Savage started a website that linked the name "Santorum" to a transgressive sexual neologism. I'm in a bind, here, because explaining it or linking to it would only further it. And then I am "part of the problem." But if you Google "Rick Santorum" right now, the second result is a Wikipedia entry that explains it all. (Happily, the first entry is a Wikipedia entry that explains all of the other non-Google problem aspects of Rick Santorum's life.)

So certainly an embarrassing situation for the politician and one that he was dreading would ever happen.

oj simpson beaten

Sources from USA Today say a prison official claims that the National Equirer's report about O.J. Simpson being attacked has been fabricated and is "totally bogus". Steve Suwe is a public information officer for the Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada and refutes the claims in an interview with game on!

The National Enquirer reported on Tuesday that O.J. Simpson was attacked in the Nevada prison and beaten unconscious. The 63-year-old has reportedly been a "marked man" in prison "ever since white supremacists overheard him brag about his sexual conquests of beautiful white women." Simpson's former business partner, Bruce Fromong, told the paper: "Unfortunately for O.J., a group of young skinhead punks were within earshot - and they were enraged."

So sources now say that the story broke on Tuesday is now a fabrication and that there is no truth but the truth will be revealed sooner or later.

Lara Logan, a correspondent for TV program "60 minutes" was reportedly sexually assaulted several times by thugs shouting "Jew! Jew!" as she was reporting on the mayhemic fall of president Hosni Mubarak in the main square of Cairo on Friday, sources have revealed yesterday.

The TV crew with Logan, who is also the network's chief foreign correspondent, had its cameras rolling moments before she was dragged off -- and caught her on tape looking tense and trying to head away from a crowd of men behind her in Tahrir Square. In the crush of the mob, she was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers. She reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning.

She is currently in hospital recovering from the ordeal sources say and there will be no further correspondance at this time out of respect for her family.

WWE superstar The Rock has decided to come back to the WWE after a decade log hiatus of frequenting the hollywood hills. Last night's episode of WWE Raw declared that the star of "The Scorpion King" and one of the WWEs biggest names during their attitude era is to be the host of Wrestlemania 27 this year.

After the lights dimmed on the show's stage, the crowd went wild as The Rock – real name Dwayne Johnson – walked out and said his signature line, "If you smell what the Rock is cooking!!!" Wearing sunglasses and a shirt reading "I Bring It," Johnson walked across the stage staring out at the audience, before stepping into the ring for the first time in seven years. "Finally, the Rock has come back home!" he yelled. Johnson left professional wrestling in 2004 -- making his last appearance at WrestleMania XX -- for the movies.

So a welcome comeback for one of Vince McMahons proudest names to grace his wrestling corporation.

Rumors have been surfacing across the internet that CBS reporter Serene Branson might have suffered a stroke whilst reporting for the channel. The truth at the moment is still hazy and it has been reported that the news reporter had been looked over by paramedics.

The full update on Serene reads: "Serene Branson was examined by paramedics on scene immediately after her broadcast. Her vital signs were normal. She was not hospitalized. As a precautionary measure, a colleague gave her a ride home and she says that she is feeling fine this morning." It's unclear when the update was posted or if more will come.

So a shocking mishap for all to see and the mystery behind the stumbling is still to be revealed.

Last night talk show host David Letterman revealed the identity of the Russian model who is the 2011 sports illustrated cover model. Her name is Irina Shayk and it's her fifth entry in the issue but her first time on the front cover. The news came out by accident yesterday when an office worker took a photo of a billboard where Shayk was on.

"There were 10 models there to do the Top 10 List, and nobody knows until the last minute who the cover will be," Shayk (who is dating soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo) said. "And then I saw it, and I couldn't believe it."The Russian model’s cover was briefly revealed earlier today on a large billboard in New York’s Times Square for a segment to air later tonight on “Late Show with David Letterman.”In addition to her work on the catwalk and in the pages of fashion magazines, Shayk is also known for dating soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

So certainly a treat for the eyes on this years sports illustrated cover and the knowledge of the cover appeared to be a mishap of information.

christina aguilera falls at grammys

It hasn't been a week to remember for famous dirrrty and burlesque pop star Christina Aguilera. After her fluff when performing the national anthem at the super bowl last week, last night she was performing in a tribute to R&B icon Aretha Franklin with four other perfomers on the stage.

She executed the song "Ain't No Way" without any hiccups, but when she was leaving the stage, she fell down -- literally. It's shot from afar and a bit blurry, but it's there, very obviously. Squint and then squirm. At least her performance was impressive. "That was a real sexy ending," Aguilera later said. Aguilera, 30, earned rapturous applause and a standing ovation for her searing, soulful take on "Natural Woman" and other Aretha Franklin classics during an all-star tribute to the recovering Queen of Soul.

So another slip up from the accident prone pop star and certainly a week to forget for the singer!

Reporter for CBS Los Angeles Serene Branson has been taken to hospital last night for tests after stumbling incomprehensibly over her speech on a Grammy's broadcast on the channel. On being introduced by the studio, Branson began "Well a very, very...", before mispronouncing "heavily". On trying to pronounce it again he was unable to say it then continued with unintelligible sounds.

It is feared that she may have suffered a stroke on air. Strokes can cause speech problems in different ways, either by interfering with the brain's ability to recognise and construct words, or by preventing the facial muscles from forming syllables correctly. About a third of stroke sufferers develop problems with communicating, although it is often posssible to reverse some of the damage.

So a sad mishap from the reporter and hopefully it is nothing serious that becomes of tests that are performed.

grammy winners

The Grammys night was somewhat owned by the all-American country pop act Lady Antebellum(pictured left) but the biggest surprise emerged from north of the border. Arcade Fire grabbed the Grammy for Best Album of the year for their third full length "The Suburbs", sweeping aside the records from Lady Antebellum, Eminem, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry in the process.

To say this was unexpected would be an understatement. Earlier in the evening, Arcade Fire dropped the Best Alternative Album Grammy to the Black Keys’ “Brothers.” This sets up an interesting theoretical question for Grammyologists: how could “The Suburbs” be designated the best album overall when it isn’t even the best album in its genre? The band doesn’t have the mainstream recognition of Eminem or Lady Gaga, but ever since “Funeral” their 2004 debut, Arcade Fire has been one of the most lauded groups in rock.

So a great night for Lady Antebellum, Arcade Fire and all the participants in the music awards ceremony.

Hordes of Justin Bieber fans today are fretting over the pop star allegedly balding himself on the Jimmy Kimmel live show. Biebers hairstyle is almost as iconic as he is and the sketch on Jimmy Kimmel would have been a nightmare scenario for hordes of teen girls who idolise the star.

The tween icon has been everywhere to promote "Never Say Never" lately. He has taken part in a lot of stunts along the way as he impersonated Jon Stewart on "The Daily Show" and even won over the Church Lady on "Saturday Night Live" But the bald sketch on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" took the cake late Thursday night. When they returned from a commercial break, Kimmel appeared to be done shaving off his guest's famed hair. Yet while some fans who stayed up late might have panicked, others likely realized it was a gag.

So a pretty hilarious joke, IF YOU KNEW IT WAS ONE! and there was probably many pre teen hearts in mouths when it was a story that emerged.

The Grammys are just hours away and already people will have burning questions regarding the event. Who will win best album of the year? What will lady gaga wear? Can it be eaten, set on fire or both? We will find out these things on tonight's show which is broadcast at 8pm ET on CBS.

Rapper Eminem is the leading nominee for the 2011 Grammys with ten nods. His latest album is called “Recovery,” and since award-show voters love a comeback story, he’s good bet to come away with some prizes tonight. Still, Eminem will face a stiff challenge from Lady Gaga’s “The Fame Monster,” and many critics are pulling for the rock band Arcade Fire’s “The Suburbs.” The best new artist category will be hotly-contested with Justin Bieber, rapper Drake, indie darlings Florence & the Machine, the British folk band Mumford & Sons and jazz comer Esperanza Spalding all vying for the award.

So a very interesting night for award ceremonies and who is to receive the prizes is to be seen.
