Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" is out on the street today and after a big hype, the grammy winner has released the first song from her new album and the song plays out as an anthem for the disaffected, discriminated, downtrodden and for those who just want to boogie.

Boasting infectious beats and less abstract lyrics, Gaga and others -- including Elton John -- predict this may become a legendary anthem. Many are saying that it sounds, and expresses similar sentiment, to Madonna's hit "Express Yourself." “It doesn’t matter if you love him or capital H-I-M because you were born this way, baby,”Gaga sings at the beginning of the new song. Lady Gaga was originally planning on premiering the track at the Grammys on Sunday, but she decided to release it two days early for his Little Monsters.

So fans of the whacky pop star will rejoice at being able to get a glimpse of her new material with this new single.

taylor corley playboy pictures

A student of Mississippi state named Taylor Corley has been able to keep her position on the school's cheerleading team despite making an appearance in adult magazine Playboy. Corley, posed for the photoset under the alias of Taylor Stone prior to joining the school.

The images were published this November and she was identified this week, which led to questions about whether she would be removed from the cheerleading team Mississippi State vice president of student affairs Dr. Bill Kibler released the following statement: "If she had identified herself as an MSU Cheerleader or used any of our marks, then the university might have pursued action. However, she was not identified as an MSU student or a cheerleader. The university did not pursue any action when this came to our attention last fall."

So it appears the student has escaped getting into any hot water and will be hoping there is no comeback from the initially precarious situation.

diet soda stroke

It isn't actal conclsive proof but new research has revealed worries about diet soda, saying that there is a higher risk for strokes and heart attacks among people who consume it everyday as opposed to people who don't drink it at all. Dr Steve Greenberg said these findings should be "a wakeup call to pay attention to diet sodas,".

A simple solution, health experts say, is to drink water instead. Doctors have no chemical or biological explanation for why diet soda may be risky. It could be that people who drink lots of it also fail to exercise, weigh more, drink more alcohol or have other risk factors like high blood pressure and smoking. However, the researchers took these and many other factors into account and didn't see a change in the trend. "It's reasonable to have doubts, because we don't have a clear mechanism. This needs to be viewed as a preliminary study," said lead researcher Hannah Gardener of the University of Miami.

So a somewhat shocking finding which will make many think twice about buying a diet pepsi and make them want to buy mineral water instead!

lindsay lohan

As presumed, unfortunate star Lindsay Lohan has been formally charged with a felony count of grand theft after reportedly bogarting a necklace from a jewelry store. She's since refuted the claims and refuses responsibility for the occurence which in turn meant she was going to court with a plea of not guilty today.

The judge set bail at $20,000, which Lohan came prepared for and will likely post soon to secure her release. She's been around the block a time or two. If convicted in the Venice, Calif., banditry, she could face three years in prison. Her history of thievery and other nonsense was a big reason charges were filed. Lindsay Lohan has been remanded into custody after the judge gave her a stern admonishment, telling the train wreck "please don't push your luck."

So troubled times for the star of films such as Mean Girls and Freaky Friday and she will be hoping for the best when it comes to a verdict.

Mark Sanchez, quarterback for the New York Jets is being castigated by sections of the media for reportedly getting it on with a 17 year old high school girl called Eliza Kruger (pictured left), and very much considered a minor. the 24 year old has however stated that she lied about her age which is why it happened.

So if he didn’t know she was underage. And even though she was 17, is that even a crime? Not in New York or New Jersey. But it’s the idea of a grown man, a famous grown man, is dating a girl in high school that gives people pause. But should Mark Sanchez be publicly skewered for his alleged entanglement with this high schooler? Especially if he didn’t know. The two reportedly met at a Manhattan nightclub, which probably had an age requirement to get in, so he probably assumed she was older right off the bat.

So a somewhat precarious situation for the football star who will hope there is no harmful ramifications for the situation.

After a marriage lasting 2 and a half years pop star Ashlee Simpson and Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz have filed for divorce. They have reportedly filed documents in the LA superior court citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind their parting.

The singer-actress, who has a 2-year-old son, Bronx, with Wentz, is seeking primary physical custody of the child in addition to sharing legal custody with her ex. The pair released a statement saying: "After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to file for divorce," the couple said through a spokesperson. "We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our No. 1 priority. We ask that everyone honor our privacy as we navigate this next phase of our lives."

So another celebrity coupel split up and whether there are other reasons behind the parting they are yet to be revealed.

Kim Kardashian froze in fear when Prince beckoned her to join him onstage on his Madison Square Garden concert on Monday night, then swiftly told her to leave when she didn't shake her booty to the music. The legendary pop star had been pulling audience members onstage all night and declared that Kardashian was "too sexy" before she sauntered onstage.

But when she finally came up, all she did was smile and clap her hands while he danced around her. Then he yelled, "Get off the stage," practically flinging her back down the stairs. But apparently he brought her back to redeem herself later that night while he played piano. Once upon a time there was a half-Armenian, booty-licious reality star who dreamed of meeting a famous prince. Then one day, her dream came true. "About to start getting ready for the Prince concert!!!! I am soooo excited!!!!!!" she told a little social-networking bird.

So a somewhat amusing turn of events at the Prince concert for the socialite and not the reaction she was looking for from the pop icon.

J. Paul Getty III has died today at the age of 54. He is the grandson of oil tycoon Jean Paul Getty and his son is an actor that has performed in many films including the project greenlight film feast alongside Clu Gulager. He earned the nickname the "golden hippy" due to his bohemian lifestyle, left wing views and long hair.

He reached the pop culture conscious when he was kidnapped in 1973 while in Rome. Many people believed it was a plot by Paul to get money from his grandfather. His grandfather refused the ransom demands until an ear showed up, the kidnappers claiming it belonged to J. Paul Getty III. Getty’s grandfather finally negotiated the ransom and paid $2.9 million. J. Paul Getty III was found and many of the kidnappers were arrested, although much of the ransom money was lost.

So the well known actor and name has passed away and has left behind a name that will be well renowned for some time to come.

Valentines day 2011

So Valentine's day is imminent and we've all been considering what to get our loved ones. It's almost a no brainer what men choose to buy for their lover, usually flowers, chocolate and maybe a balloon or stuffed toy. Getting a gift for a man is a lot more mentally trying.

Some ideas for the man in your life could be: 5lb Gummy bears; which will make him want to relive his youth with candy alongside candy such as chocolate covered fortune cookie, with your own personalized message; chocolate covered strawberries(pictured left),gift baskets full of different sorts of candy treats; if he's a football fan you could get him a a special NFL or soccer team dispenser with his favourite team on. If he's not really a candy/chocolate fan you could buy him a set of whiskey stones which cool down a whiskey without watering it down which ice cubes do.

So certainly plenty more ideas that could be taken from these few and hopefully you can find something really fitting for your man this valentines.

superbowl commercials

This year's series of Super Bowl commercials saw a glut of somewhat violent displays inculding Roseanne getting knocked over by a log for snickers and grizzly bears smashing a car up for McDonald's. Cars.com poisoned a guy, body-scrambled another and shot a cowboy full of arrows.

Pepsi had two separate commercials that ended with the same punchline: Someone being hit in the face by a full can of Pepsi Max. (A possible tagline could be, “Pepsi Max: Tasty and Concussive!”) Also, House threw his cane at an adorable child, a pug dog smashed through a door for Doritos, and that terrifying green android apparently stole someone’s thumbs. Companies have to worry about people not paying attention or flipping over to the Puppy Bowl, and the fastest way to get people’s attention is (apparently) to throw a can of Pepsi in someone’s face.

So it appears companies this year are being far more aggressive LITERALLY, with their mode of commercial and it certainly would have grabbed peoples attention.

darth vader commercial

He's never watched the sci fi epic "Star Wars", but Max Page (pictured left) has found fame as a mini version of the legendary scree villain, Darth Vader. The 6 year old landed a star role in one of the super bowl's most popular TV adverts which was or the 2012 Volkswagen Pasat.

In the commercial he tries, without success, to use "The Force" to affect an array of household items - and even the family dog. Page, who has appeared in a few regional commercials and has a role on "The Young and the Restless," didn't know when he snagged the part that it would be for the Super Bowl. "It wasn't until halfway through the first day of filming" that we found out, his mother, Jennifer, said on NBC's "Today" show on Monday. "We were just thrilled. We thought it was his first national commercial."

So a dream fame ticket for the youngster and will surely go onto bigger and better things in the acting realm on the back of it.

joan rivers go daddy

You're probably aware now of the GoDaddy.co tv advert from yesterday during the super bowl which presents famous comedienne Joan Rivers as the .co girl. Of course that digital magic that gave her that body, however many people were misled by the body shots Go Daddy presented before the commercial aired.

So who does that body belong to? It’s Tabitha Taylor, who starred in 2009′s most watched Super Bowl commercial (according to Tivo). In the “Enhancement” commercial she wears the green dress. At the end of the commercial she starts to show off her “enhancement” before the commercial urges viewers to see more at GoDaddy.com. The Enhancement ad also has cameos from Go Daddy founder Bob Parsons (who sat to the right of the panel) as well as Christine Jones, Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary (who sat next to Danica Patrick).

So an amusing alteration to the famous comedienne and the transformation was so lifelike people were actually questioning whether it was real or not.

christina aguilera national anthem super bowl

Tonight's super bowl game saw pop star Christina Aguilera deliver the national anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner" right before kickoff and she appeared to put her own spin on the lyrics! She was heard to have altered the words in the song's fourth line.

The anthem's official line in that fourth line is: "O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?" Instead, the "Burlesque" singer merged the lyrics with the song's second line, which she had just sang ("What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?"), belting out: "What so proudly we watched at the twilight's last gleaming?". Also some of the notes she was hitting towards the end of the performance were way off.

So certainly not the display the "dirrty" pop star was hoping for but certainly could have been worse and there have been worse displays in the past.

o reilly obama interview

As politicians in Egypt eventually met the demands of protesters and promised to instill changes that will take place "in time". President Obama held an interview with Bill O'Reilly, shortly before the Super Bowl, and stated that he believes that Egypt has been transformed forever.

While he stopped short of saying when -- or if -- President Hosni Mubarak would step down, he said he couldn't predict what the next step was. "Only he knows what he's going to do," he told the slightly combative Fox News host. He added he couldn't make Mubarak, who has long been an ally of the US, do anything. "What we can do is we can say the time is now for you to start making change in that country," he said. But he played down what has been a big fear of many Americans, that the Muslim Brotherhood would take a big role in a new government, especially after they negotiated with the ruling party today.

So an interesting and revealing interview partaken by often controversial talk host, Bill O'Reilly, reveals the presidents opinion on the Egypt crisis.

bob marley birthday

Today sees the birthday or reggae legend Bob Marley who would have turned 66 years old today. To mark the event San Francisco-based rap/jazz/fusion ensemble COPUS has produced a video called “Natty Dread” with music by COPUS with previously unavailable photos of Bob Marley and the Wailers.

Poet Royal Kent was on the scene at the Santa Barbara Bowl in July 1978 and witnessed the last California performance by Bob Marley and the Wailers at the Oakland Coliseum in 1980. The video also includes photos of Haile Selassie and Marcus Garvey mixed in with live COPUS shots. COPUS (Creation of Peace Under the Stars) was formed in 1998 when poet Royal Kent and composer Wendy Loomis met at a San Francisco open mic.

So a fitting tribute to one of the most important artists in modern music who influenced may artists worldwide with his reggae music.
