Whilst this week has been the showcase of celebrity engagements, singer John Mellencamp and his model wife Elaine Irwin have decided to reveal their intentions to all that they are to divorce, after 20 years of marriage. While a representative for the story hasn't confirmed that the papers have been filed yet, it seems that the split is a neutral agreement between the pair.
A spokesman for the 59-year-old rocker says he and his wife of 20 years, model Elaine Mellencamp (nee Irwin), are splitting up.
"John and Elaine Mellencamp are proud of their 20 years together and are very happy with their accomplishments both as parents and as a family," their spokesman said in a statement on Thursday.
