According to reports the Cadillac Escalade is the most popular car to steal in the United States. The source for this information is the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Based on their figures, the Cadillac Escalade had the largest rate of insurance claims made because of theft, with a rate of 10.8 per every 1,000 of the cars being insured.

That’s five times more than the average car gets stolen. But those numbers don’t just include the vehicle being stolen. It also includes break-ins and thefts of parts of the vehicle. Cadillac Escalades are equipped with ignition immobilizer technology to prevent theft and keep the car from being driven after a break-in, but studies reveal that the Cadillac Escalade is relatively easy to steal, despite it’s large size, through the use of flatbed trucks or a vehicle pushing the Escalade from behind in another car.

So designers of the vehicle may want to revise the design of the car because based on these figures the company is likely to see a slump in sales.
