The couple have been together for over three years but Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have now drawn a close to their relationship. According to reports, the pair have parted ways because the relationship had run it's course, they do however plan to remain friends, Popeater claims.

Zac and Vanessa met on the set of 'High School Musical,' and were seemingly inseparable over the years, as they were spotted together, hand-in-hand, at movie premieres and red carpet events all over the world.

Earlier this year, the 23-year-old 'Charlie St. Cloud' star told Details that he realizes he could be one of today's most eligible bachelors, but it wasn't what he wanted. "Believe me, I wrack my brain thinking, 'Why am I not out there playing the field?'" he said, adding, "But it's not in my heart." "Right off the bat, we had a connection," Vanessa told Glamour magazine in early 2010. She also said that they inspire each other, adding, "[I love] having someone to grow with."

So another celebrity couple part ways and it will see both parties being able to find happiness with a different partner from here on in.
