The Hurffville Elementary fourth- and fifth-grade chorus, under the guidance of Nancy Leong, recently sent a festive recording to Philadelphia-based radio station B101, and the students’ choral selection of “Believe” extracted from the film "The Polar Express" has been chosen for the sem-finals of the “Christmas Choir” competition.

The overall winner receives an opportunity to perform with the Philly Pops Orchestra and Peter Nero during a Holiday Pops concert on Sunday, December 19, at the Kimmel Center, and its music program will receive $5,000. Today, B101 will feature Hurffville’s selection on the air along with tapes created by two other schools between 7 and 9 a.m. Similar competitions between three schools also will be held today and Tuesday.

so an exciting prospect for the participants and a once in a lifetime opportunity awaits the winner who will get to play with the Philly Pops Orchestra
